Retailers are offering a special holiday card promotion to Amazon and its competitors this year.
The new card is available at Wal-mart and other retailers beginning Dec. 16, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The $50 “Amazon Gift Card” is a one-time payment that can be redeemed for a $50 Amazon gift card at participating stores.
The cards are available online, in store and online at participating Wal-marts.
Amazon offers a limited number of $50 cards for a limited time, which it says is intended to attract shoppers to its site.
The company says it is offering up to $1,500 worth of cards to its customers per year.
The offer is limited to Amazon, which is not the only major online retailer that has offered its customers free cards this year, the Journal reports.
The deal is not limited to just Amazon.com, and other major online retailers will not be able to offer the card.
Wal-mart, which operates more than 1,500 stores in the U.S., is also offering $1.25 million worth of gift cards.
The gift cards, which come with a $20 Amazon gift certificate, can be used for online purchases at Walmarts, Amazon Prime, Target, Walmart.com and other participating stores, Wal- Mart said.
Wal-Marts are among the top retailers in the country.
Walmart, Target and Walmart.net all offer free gift cards to shoppers.
Amazon, however, offers free cards to retailers and online shoppers.
